The Aberdeen Ladies Scottish Open presented by EventScotland will take place at Archerfield Links in East Lothian from Thursday 18 – Saturday 20 August. Organisers are delighted with the player field, particularly the host of talented Scottish players taking part in the tournament including Catriona Matthew, Mhairi McKay, Lynn Kenny, Carly Booth, Krystle Caithness, Clare Queen, Vikki Laing, Kylie Walker, Heather McRae and Gemma Webster.
In addition, leading Ladies European Tour professionals Mel Reid, Diana Luna, Caroline Masson and Lee-Anne Pace will also be competing for the €220,000 prize fund. Defending champion Virginie Lagoutte-Clement said “I am greatly looking forward to returning to Archerfield this year for the 2011 Aberdeen Ladies Scottish Open. Although a challenging course, it is a pleasure to play and I will be looking to hopefully repeat my win of last year. “
The unique Pro-Am style format of the tournament is now well established as 60 top female professionals join 60 amateurs on the stunning fairways at Archerfield for the three day Ladies European Tour event. Celebrity amateurs taking part this year include Alan Hansen and Gavin Hastings.
