The Ladies European Tour is delighted to announce that it has been possible to accommodate an oversubscription of entries for Lalla Aicha Tour School 2015 due to the Tour’s close relationship with Hassan II Golf Trophy Association (ATH) and a shared vision to grow and develop women’s golf.

Through the generosity and support of ATH and Royal Dar Es Salam Golf Club in Rabat, Morocco, Lalla Aicha Tour School venues have been extended to include the Blue Course at Royal Dar Es Salam. Lalla Aicha Tour School Pre-Qualifying B will now be played over both the Red and Blue Course.

TRIBUTE TO HER ROYAL HIGHNESS LATE PRINCESS LALLA AICHA

The qualifying School was renamed  Lalla Aïcha Tour School in honour of Her Royal Highness Late Princess Lalla Aïcha who contributed enormously to the development of women’s golf in Morocco, beside and with the support of His Majesty Late King Hassan II. The first Arab woman ambassador (London and Rome), Her Royal Highness late Princess Lalla Aïcha had participated in the Hassan II Golf Trophy and Lalla Meryem Cup since the 1970s and played 18 holes every day until she passed away in September, 2011.

CENTENARY OF GOLF IN MOROCCO

This year, 2014, coincides with the celebration of the centenary of golf in Morocco. Since the opening of the Tangiers Royal Country Club in 1914.

There has been a noticeable evolution in the landscape of Moroccan golfing making at the same time more concrete Morocco’s potential in terms of tourism.

HASSAN II GOLF TROPHY ASSOCIATION

The Hassan II Golf Trophy Association (ATH) is a non- profit sports association established in 2002 and chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid.

The association  organizes national and international golf tournaments including the Hassan II Golf Trophy and the Lalla Meryem Cup. It also coordinates various activities aimed at promoting golf in Morocco and positioning the country as a leading golf destination.

Training Moroccan players to become top-rated professionals is a number one priority for the Hassan II Golf Trophy Association. Many competitions organized by the  association allow young Moroccan golfers to strenghten their game and acquire the experience needed to measure up to the best international players.
