The LET’s 2016 Order of Merit leader Shanshan Feng used a final-round 67 to post 17-under for the week and cruise to a three shot victory over Suzann Pettersen at the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia.

Feng, who won the Buick Championship on the LET in May, commented: “It feels great. My record here is really good, especially the past four years. I had a very fantastic week, every time I come back here, it makes me feel like I’m at home. I’m really relaxed and I love everything, love the food, love the people. So I’m really looking forward to come back every year.”

The win was Feng’s fifth on the LPGA Tour and her first in over two years and 45 events.

“I won’t compare any of my wins,” Feng said. “But I would say this one is really important for me because my last win on the LPGA was actually two years ago right here, so I haven’t won on the LPGA Tour for two years. Even though I’ve been winning on the (Ladies) European Tour and in China.”

As Feng mentioned, her last victory on the LPGA came at the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia in 2014 prompting her to ask Tun. Musa. Hitam, Chairman of the Sime Darby Foundation, for membership.

“Can I actually join the membership here?” Feng asked with a smile. “I really love this golf course.”

Pettersen finished second at 14-under while Anna Nordqvist and Amy Yang tied for third at 12-under.

PERNILLA LINDBERG MAKES HOLE- IN-ONE

Pernilla Lindberg registered the shot of the day with a hole-in-one of the 153-yard par-3 17th.

“We were discussing the yardage a little bit and I took some yardage off a 7-iron,” Lindberg said. “When the ball was in the air, I kept holding my finish and said, “Be good! Be good!” — because it looked good the whole way. It landed about a step, maybe four or five feet short of the pin, and just trickled in.”

“This is my sixth hole-in-one,” Lindberg explained. “I was telling the girls that I was playing with, it’s kind of funny. You know how they say that hole-in-ones kind of come in streaks? My latest one was in Beijing, so I started and ended my Asia trip with hole-in-ones. Before that, I had one in Arkansas and in 2011 in an LPGA event. So it’s my third in LPGA events, and then six overall. I made one in a an LET event, a Sun Coast event and in a practice round.”
