Dr Andreas Wölfer, a member of the executive committee of HypoVereinsbank, added: “We are keen to use this enormously positive development for sport in Germany as a communication platform. We want to further develop our role in the golf community and to clearly intensify a dialogue with the bank’s target group.”

The Ladies German Open has featured on the Ladies European Tour schedule on 15 previous occasions, the last of which was when Karine Icher triumphed at the Palmerston Ladies German Open on The Nick Faldo Course, Bad Saarow, Berlin, in 2001.
