Overview of 2015 The Queens presented by Kowa
Hosts Japan led from start to finish to earn an historic home victory at The Queens presented by Kowa, a new match play tournament between four of the world’s leading women’s golf tours. Home Captain Momoko Ueda was thrilled as her JLPGA team finished with 41 points, three ahead of the KLPGA Team. The LET Captain Dame Laura Davies won her singles match on the final day and the LET finished third overall ahead of the ALPG in a fresh and innovative collaboration between golf’s global tours.
About the Queens presented by Kowa
The inaugural edition of The Queens presented by Kowa in 2015 was a unique match play tournament featuring four teams of nine players, including a playing captain, from the Ladies European Tour, Ladies Professional Golfers’ Association of Japan, Ladies Korean LPGA and Australian Professional Golf Inc. It took place at Miyoshi Country Club near Nagoya, in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. A total of 34 matches were played over three days: eight fourball matches on day one, eight foursomes matches on day two and 18 singles matches on day three. Scoring was through a points system with up to 102 total points available. Each match was worth 3 points to the winning side. If a match ended all square after 18 holes, 1 point was awarded to each side.
