After 223 tournaments played over a 17-year-career, Marie-Laure announced her retirement from professional tournament golf during the 2004 Ladies English Open at Chart Hills. The 43-year-old from Biarritz, who is an honorary lifetime member of the LET, had won 19 titles on the LET and represented Europe on three occasions at The Solheim Cup in one of the most decorated careers in women’s golf. De-Lorenzi joined the Tour in 1987 and won two events in her rookie year and went on to establish a Tour record of winning seven titles in 1988 to earn the first of two consecutive Order of Merit titles. De Lorenzi finished in the top ten of the LET Order of Merit a total of ten times during her career. The Frenchwoman won her national title on three occasions and the last of her victories came at the 1997 Swiss Open.
